Problem Note 65665: SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 4.7.x - Users receive 'Duplicate HTTP-based FlexSessions' dialog and/or may have their UI session terminated

DetailsAboutRate It

SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 4.7.x users who use Chrome as their web browser and accept the Chrome 80 update to version 80.0.3987.132, and also have the Chrome policy LegacySameSiteCookieBehaviorEnabled set to 2 which translates to Use SameSite-by-default behavior for cookies on all sites, will experience an unstable UI session which issues repeated occurrences of pop-up notifications indicating 'Detected duplicate HTTP-based FlexSessions' and/or "Your session is no longer valid". The latter notification results in the user session being terminated and requiring the user to sign in again (both pop-up notifications are displayed below).

There are currently three (3) resolution paths available.

  1. Upgrade the instance of SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework from 4.7.x to 5.x
  2. Use Internet Explorer as an alternate web browser, both Chrome and Internet Explorer are supported browsers for 4.7.x
  3. Change the LegacySameSiteCookieBehaviorEnabled policy setting value from 2 to 1; a setting value of 1 translates to Revert to legacy SameSite behavior for cookies on all sites. Note the policy setting value change requires a registry change, the details for implementing the change can be found at this Google sponsored URL.
